[WHAT] I’ve been getting into drum n bass a lot more lately and this all Chicago line-up is sitting on a vault of amazing remixes and original tracks. With different styles of spinning and mixing tracks Stunna is a Chicago DJs known for his innovative funk and jazz speed up to create some head bumping drum n bass music. Balanced out with soft synths and smooth break downs, the drum n bass genre has its sect of strong followers, but like all other electronic sub-genres there is much room for experimentation and creativity. I’m excited to see what else these windy city DJ’s have up their sleeve.

Kansas City native and underground rapper Mac Lethal swings through Chicago to deliver his crisp lyricism and entertaining live show. Mac Lethal is the co-founder of Black Clover Records. Mac released an album titled 11:11 via Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2007. Mac Lethal’s latest release Irish Goodbye, dropped earlier this year.

Thursday’s line-up also features a set from Chicago born (now resides in Brooklyn, NYC) emcee F. Stokes. Stokes recently released a mixtape titled Baked Goods.

The night also has performances from Chicago’s Ill Ambition alongside Chicago heavyweight Scheme. Check out Scheme’s latest project Same Rebel, New Cause (Deluxe Edition). The nights starts of from Michigan to Chicago transplant DK. Download DK’s From The Outside mixtape here.

Last months winner was none other than Chicago producer Bennie D.  Bennie D was raised in Chicago and at an early age found hip hop as a way to cope with his family being evicted from their home. With his CD player and headphones at hand, at twelve years old, Bennie D began acquiring inspirations in the hip hop world such as Busta Rhymes and Camp Lo. Discovering production as a means to connect to his passion he began creating the music that has led him to where he is now. His producer inspirations are  the heavy weights Timabalnd and No I.D. Having competed against 13 other producers, Bennie D’s beats were bass ridden, energetic and with a lot of character. With strategic drops and slick syncopation the crowd was defiantly making noize. Now its time for a new producer to come out from the basement and show the world what they’ve been working on. Amp Sundays is proud to serve chicago producers and booking agents to network and fuel the Chicago music industry.

[WHAT] Natives to Baltimore, Yeasayer (pronounced yaysayer) came to fruition in late 2006 and after their big debut at the SXSW festival a year later the group began the incredible musical journey they are continue to live today. Taking a more electro, pop feel to their newest album, Odd Blood, the group has recently gotten back from spreading their talents in Australia. Now coming to Chicago for the second time this year,  most fans could vouch for, their live sets/psychedelic light shows are a one-of-a kind experience. L.A’s Health will be bringing forth some awesome experimental music while DJ Delvin and Darko/ Spank Rock will be throwing down their well know baltimore bass/ 80′s hip hop tracks till 4 am. [WHAT] Tibaut Bowman and Felix Moreno also known as Auto Body are a live indie electro fusion band out of the Austin, Texas scene and boy can they put on a show. Resourcefulness, Creativity and sheer musical talent separate these guys from the rest. Auto Body’s use of different synths and electro sounds mesh perfectly with the instrumental base creating this live electro fusion. Having just released a seven song party EP called Priest Party , many await their album drop which should be by the end of 2010.With openers Bird Peterson and Lo Bounce also on the line up this should be a tack on the calendar for all you live music junkies out there.

[WHAT] Excision, still in his early 20′s, came out of Canada with an ear and a unique music taste that would allow him to be one of the most revered dubstep artist of our generation. Mixing industrial sounds with intergalactic synths is only the beginning for Excision.  Perfectly balancing metal, hip hop and electro to create an innovative dark version of the growing genre that is dubstep. Under his own label, Rottun Recordings, Excision has single handedly pushed the dubstep sound to the ears of many by putting out grimey yearly Shambala Dubstep Mixes that when played make any room feel like a machine war apocalypse. Gracing the stage before Excision will be bass heavy weights Downlink and Antiserum, both prolific in their individual crafts of mixing and insane drops. While you pre-game tonight throw on the 2010 Shambala Mix and tell me it doesn’t make you want to rage 10X harder.

For this special event the production tour team announced that they “will be adding a massive 50,000 watt PK Sound System designed specifically for Dubstep, along with a sick Intelligent Lighting, and Video rig” .

Bonney is most recognized from the noize he has made in the Washington, DC hip-hop scene. Be sure to check his live show. This particular night he will be performing his entire new album titled, Fresh.

The night also features performances from Chicago vet Pugs Atomz alongside up and comers Lungz and tha Basic.
