The RGB Lounge looks to be an incredible addition to the Chicago community. Located in Wicker Parker, this creative space will offer a variety off functions. GRB Lounge includes an art gallery, internet lounge and in-store printing workshop. The possibilities are endless of what future events RGB Lounge will have to offer. Amp Sundays Producer Beat Battles will be a monthly event held every second Sunday at Evil Olive.Producers will battle each other for a chance to win $200 in prize money, studio time at Classick Studios, “Day in the Life” video footage of their studio sessions filmed by AyKidShots.com and their chance to produce a song by a popular Chicago artist TBA on the night of the event. The video footage and the winner’s newly produced song will be circulated on sponsoring blog CrowdNoize.com plus more.

Producers must submit two beats in order to be considered for the beat battle. Hip-hop/Dub-step/Glitch and more genres are welcomed. Please send all beats to producersforamped@gmail.com . Selected producers will be required to pay a $20 fee for entry in to the competition. This is a 21+ event, but producers can be under 21.

[WHAT] Two lake cities come together for hip-hop. This Friday, Chicago hosts three of Minneapolis’ finest hip-hop talents. This beat exhibition put on by Fieldwerk Recordings and The Dirty Social showcases the talents of Medium Zach and Brandon Allday who make up Big Quarters. The duo put out an album titled From the Home of Brown Babies & White Mothers in the spring of last year. There new album Party Like a Young Commie is on the way.

The exhibition also features Benzilla, a buzzing producer from the Twin Cities. Benzilla co-produced BK One’s Rádio Do Canibal, a compilation of samples after a few trips to crate dig in Brazil. The record featuring Scarface, Raekwon, I Self Devine, Black Thought, Slug, Phonte, Brother Ali, Abby Wolf, POS and Toki Wright.

Definitely a good way to get a taste of the hip-hop scene up in Minneapolis.
