[WHAT] Lyrics Born is making it happen again at the Abbey Pub coming off the release of his latest album, As U Were. The hip-hop, funk, electro album breaks the usual sound of what a rapper typically sounds like. But Lyrics Born isn’t your typical hip-hop artist. With collborations ranging from Sam Sparro, Joyo Velarde, and the Toronto based Keys N Krates, LB is changing the game. The groove never stops with his latest release, keeping the Chicago steppers busy on the dance floor, never losing the energy that follows his albums that Okpalyer.com says “whatever labels you need to apply to it – at day’s end, it’s just good fucking music”.  He’s bringing his friends along for the ride this time and the Abbey Pub will groove nonstop from beginning to end, baby! [WHAT] The Chicago Urban Art Society is lending their awesome creative space for a blow out New Years Celebration. Hailing from Toronto, the headliners Keys n Krates have been reinventing the remix game and are getting wold wide recognition for it. The trio is made up of a world champion turntablist, a dope drummer and a soulful keyboardist that work together to bring us some incredible live remixes. The DJ line up for this night is repping Chicago strong and providing us with a blend of hip hop and electronic sounds. Check out the space and some of these DJs at work after the jump.
