[WHAT] I’ve been getting into drum n bass a lot more lately and this all Chicago line-up is sitting on a vault of amazing remixes and original tracks. With different styles of spinning and mixing tracks Stunna is a Chicago DJs known for his innovative funk and jazz speed up to create some head bumping drum n bass music. Balanced out with soft synths and smooth break downs, the drum n bass genre has its sect of strong followers, but like all other electronic sub-genres there is much room for experimentation and creativity. I’m excited to see what else these windy city DJ’s have up their sleeve.

[WHAT] Justin Long, a windy city resident, started DJing at the age of 15 and began exploring his passion for the decks. After hearing house music on WBMX radio Long began to delve deep into the genre and now is recognized as one of the city’s house pioneers. Staring off strong in Chicago, Long’s following became strong enough to begin touring. With premier UK and U.S venues under his belt, Long has now looked to work in conjunction with 20:20 Vision to start his own record label called .DotBleep which features artist such as: Natural Rhythm, Sawtooth Sucka, Trade Marq and Miles Maeda. With a strong disco/house/techno line-up supporting him Long looks to bring Chicago together for a hell of a reunion.  (Source Outlar.com)

With a hard hitting techno down-beat, Style of Eye makes sure he keeps the audience guessing by throwing in some industrial/synth/dub sounds. Jumpstarting the party will be a sick duel starring Nate Manic and Duke Shin. A healthy dose of electro sprinkled with disco tones and served on top of some good heavy bass.

[WHAT] Vaski is a native to Minneapolis, Minnesota and started dropping dubstep in 2008, so he is still a fairly new name to dubstep . Having a powerful activation into the scene Vaski’s name is heard more and more in the dubstep community and his sound is only getting grimier and grimier. Vaski integrates different levels of sounds into his music such as tech , sci-fi and heavy industrial. Needless to say, I’m really pumped for this show.

“I still remember the first night I heard the infamous “Get Down” track which would rightfully solidify Vaski’s standing among the current Dupstep heavyweights. Vaski’s sound teeters on the line of impressive synth-scape builds to filthy wrenching bass drops. His Electro House roots are evident in the consistency of his sound through out all of his Dubstep production. An impressive string of ridiculous dub releases on Excision’s Rottun Records accompanied by an eccentric stage presence speaks to the necessity of seeing this cat live. [WHAT] Emalkay has been rising in the dubstep food chain for several years now. Catching the attention of several labels and producers across the nation Emalkay’s big break came when veteran producer/artist Caspa released Emalkay’s hit single “Explicit” on his Dub Police Label in February of 2009. Being one of those DJ’s that takes his music quality very seriously, I have yet to hear an Emalkay track or remix that is not just straight grimey goodness. Although the headliner is exciting I cant overlook the fact that some amazing local dub talent will be having a dub-battle that night! Check out Whoa-B’s viral hit.
